Abstract

Vál is a village in Fejér county, in the Martonvásár district. According to the latest Central Bureau for Statistics survey (2023), it has 2558 inhabitants. It is a special settlement with a rich history and traditions and an excellent location. What deserves special attention is the recent change in public security in the settlement. In the last three years, it could be rightly called a ‘crime-free village’. The spectacular improvement started in 2016, when the number of known crimes dropped to a fraction of the previous level. Mayor Tamás Bechtold, Member of Parliament Zoltán Tessely and Head of the Police Station Zsolt Kovács, who are responsible for different areas of the village, have created something special, and we asked them about it in this month’s interview.

In our July monthly interview, Valér Dános, Editor-in-Chief, and Szandra Fazekas-Pátyodi, Editor-in-Chief, had the opportunity to ask Mayor Bechtold and Captain Kovács about the beginning of the cooperation, the joint achievements and the future tasks.
